Clean or redraw an SVG
Give VecSnap an SVG of your own and it asks one question. A Clean keeps your drawing and its files are free. A Redraw draws it again from its picture, with far fewer points, and its download takes the image's credit.
How do I upload an SVG?
- Drop it on the converterDrop the .svg file on the card, choose it, or paste it. Nothing is sent yet.
- Answer the questionPress Clean or Redraw. Several SVGs at once are one question.
- Check the resultIts page shows what it did, and how many points and colors the file had before.

Should I clean or redraw?
Choose Clean for a file someone drew: it keeps the drawing and takes out what it doesn't need. Choose Redraw for a file traced from a picture, by Illustrator's Image Trace, Inkscape, Adobe Express or an online converter: its points follow the picture's edges, so a Clean keeps nearly all of them.
When a file's points sit very close together, the question says it looks like a trace and lists the Redraw first. It is a hint: you choose.
What does a Clean change?
Each outline stays within 0.5 px of where you drew it, unless you allow more. A Clean makes outlines simpler, finds a background, writes true circles and rectangles, joins touching shapes of one color and takes out hidden shapes. Each step stays only where the picture still matches.

Press the Cleaned row to open its settings: how far an outline may move, and each step on or off. Clean again makes a new version, free.
Why can't my SVG be cleaned?
A Clean keeps a drawing exactly, so it stands down for what it cannot keep: text, a picture inside, a clip path, some gradients. The question says so when the page can see it, and the conversion's page gives the reasons otherwise. Nothing is charged, and a Redraw draws all of it from the file's picture.

A file that links to a picture or font outside itself is one neither tool can take, because we never fetch it. Save it with everything inside, then upload it again.
What does each one cost?
A Clean's files are free, in every format, and it uses no credit. A Redraw is free to make and look at; its download takes the image's one credit. A Clean and a Redraw of one file are two versions of one image.
