How do I clean a traced SVG for Cricut?

Redraw it. A trace from Adobe Express or an online converter has hundreds of near-identical colors, and Design Space makes a layer of each. A Redraw joins them, and the cut-ready download keeps pieces from stacking.

Is an SVG cleaner the same as a minifier?

A minifier such as SVGO rewrites a file's code and leaves the drawing as it is. A cleaner also changes shapes: hidden ones go, and outlines take fewer points within a distance you set.

Does a Clean keep my ids and groups?

Yes. Its ids and named groups stay, so CSS and scripts that point at them keep working.

Can I clean several SVGs at once?

What does an SVG cleaner remove?

Will cleaning an SVG change how it looks?

Each outline stays within the distance you set, 0.5 px by default, and the file's picture is compared after each step. Colors and small specks change only when you ask.

When it can't

Which SVGs can't be cleaned?

A Clean keeps a drawing exactly, so it stands down for what it cannot keep: live text, a picture inside, a clip path, some gradients. Nothing is charged, and a Redraw draws all of it from the file's picture.

A file that links to a picture or font outside itself can't take either tool, because we never fetch it: save it with everything inside first.
