Procreate to vector, from its PNG.

How to turn a Procreate drawing into a vector file: what Procreate can share, how to export the PNG that converts best, and how to draw so the SVG comes out clean.

Procreate paints pixels, so it cannot make a vector file: its Share menu offers a PNG, a JPEG, a PSD, a PDF, a TIFF and its own format, but no SVG. To get one, hide the Background color layer, share the drawing as a PNG, and convert that PNG to SVG. Flat colors, solid brushes and closed shapes convert cleanest; a textured brush turns into countless tiny shapes.

Export

How do I export a Procreate drawing to make an SVG?

Hide the Background color layer, then share the canvas as a PNG at its full size. A transparent PNG converts into an SVG with no box behind the drawing.
  1. Open the Layers panel and untick the Background color layer's checkbox.
  2. Tap Actions, then Share, then PNG.
  3. Save it to Files, which keeps the PNG exactly as shared.
  4. Drop that PNG on the converter below.

How do I turn a Procreate PNG into an SVG?

Drop it on a converter that redraws it as shapes. VecSnap gives back an SVG with each color in its own group, ready for Cricut, a laser cutter, Illustrator or a website.

Drop your PNG. Get its SVG.

  1. Drop the PNG you shared from Procreate.
  2. VecSnap redraws it as shapes, the shapes of each color in one group.
  3. Download the SVG for Cricut, a laser cutter, Illustrator or a website.

Draw for it

How do I draw in Procreate so it converts well?

Use solid brushes and flat colors, and close your shapes. A textured brush leaves grain, and each grain would come back as a shape of its own.
