# Limits

The limits protect your account from a runaway loop. Each answer says where you stand.

| A file sent to `/v1/vectorize` | 4 MB |
| A file through an upload | 10 MB |
| A URL we fetch | 10 MB in 10 seconds, public https only |
| `wait` on `/v1/vectorize` | 0 to 1 minute |

## The headers

Every answer to a key carries `RateLimit-Policy: "requests";q=<per minute>;w=60` and `RateLimit: "requests";r=<left>;t=<seconds>`. Past the limit: `429 rate_limited` with `Retry-After`.
